2 children hospitalized due to Biden’s formula shortage, doctors can’t get formula for them

The recent crisis that hit the Biden administration is really getting close, right into the homes of families with very young children.

The nationwide baby food shortage is something that shouldn’t be happening in the United States of America, but it’s on the 46th President’s watch.

According to a Wall Street Journal weekend report, an average of 43 percent of baby formula is sold out nationwide, and the rate is even higher in 30 states.

The rate has increased from 31 percent just two weeks earlier, the Journal reported.

Typically, the out-of-stock rate is 10 percent.

WMC-TV in Memphis, Tennessee reported that two children with special medical needs were hospitalized because the formula their parents are using is unavailable.

“This is a crisis for us in healthcare,” said Dr. Mark Corkins, a pediatric gastroenterologist at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital, told the broadcaster.

“This isn’t every kid, not normal kids, but the formula recall has literally resulted in these kids having to be hospitalized,” Corkins added.

The children will be treated with IV fluids and nutritional support until formula is available, according to the WMC.

Are you blaming the Biden administration for the baby formula shortage?

“[W]We don’t have any special formulas now,” Corkins told the broadcaster.

“So what we have is literally what we have. We have some things we’re trying to find. We try to use some alternatives. But the normal ones you can imagine don’t exist.”

Corkins advised parents not to feed their children homemade formula or to dilute the formula they have.

It’s hard to imagine that there would be a formula shortage under former President Donald Trump, but if it did, you’d think he’d call the head makers to the White House to get to the bottom of it and shut up see how the situation can be corrected.

This happened as COVID-19 hit the country. The Trump administration launched Operation Warp Speed, urging companies to manufacture the medical supplies needed in the early days of the pandemic, including invoking the Defense Production Act.

There’s no doubt that Trump, having identified Abbott Nutrition as the cause of much of the country’s shortage, would have moved heaven and earth to get its facilities up and running again.

This is how the business people think: Out with the product.

Meanwhile, people in government, like President Joe Biden for most of his adult career, think process comes first.

No sense of urgency.

Last week, then-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki advised parents who can’t find a formula to call their doctor or pediatrician.

Well, in the case of these two Tennessee parents, the doctors couldn’t keep up with the need.

Meanwhile, on the southern border, the administration has been stockpiling baby food for the children of illegal immigrants.

Stephen Miller, a former Trump White House aide, remarked on Fox News’ Jesse Watters Primetime on Monday what a sad state it is when illegal aliens come before Americans.

He added with a wink, “Pretty soon parents will be going to Mexico and coming here illegally to get formula.”

It’s time for this government to focus on the main issues and solve this baby food problem.
