1959 Purse found in floorboards of League City, Clear Creek ISD school building returned to owners

LEAGUE CITY, Texas– A 1959 purse found during the renovation of League City’s community center has been successfully reconnected to its former owner’s family.

The video shown above is from the previous report when the wallet was first spotted.

The owner, Andrea “Beverly” Williams, attended Clear Creek Intermediate and Clear Creek High School. According to a League City press release, she died years ago in Washington state while three of her daughters still live in the Houston area.

One of Williams’ daughters is Deborah Hicks, wife of Justin Hicks, a member of the League City Council, according to the press release. The purse was found by contract worker Armando Rodriguez under the floorboards of the community center, which was once a League City School’s Clear Creek ISD school.

The sisters and their families gathered at the community center to view the purse and its contents and to thank those involved who found the purse and tracked down the family. Video of the gathering can be viewed on League City’s YouTube page.
