14-year-old last seen with two men 10 days ago

BOULDER, Colo. (KDPR) – 14-year-old Chloe Campbell has been missing for 10 days and Boulder police believe she is in danger.

She has blue eyes, is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs around 120 pounds. She was last seen at the Boulder High School football game on September 30.

“Chloe never came home and we were very worried,” said her father, David Campbell. “We began investigating and found that she was last seen with two older men, both around lunchtime at Boulder High on Friday and at the football game. These men have been described as sketchy and too old for high school students,” David said.

While her family hasn’t heard from her directly, messages have been sent to her friends, allegedly from Chloe.

“We have received tips from various parties claiming that she is in Arizona and that she is ‘safe’ and that she has money and that she is with family in Arizona. We want to be clear that we don’t have family in Arizona, so we’re very suspicious,” David said.

Boulder police initially described this as a runaway case that drew much judgment on social media, including from John Ramsey, father of John Bennett Ramsey, who was murdered in 1996.

He tweeted on Friday, saying: “Boulder police get off you and find this kid. Have you ever met a 14 year old kid? There is usually no trust in making sensible decisions.”

David agrees with this frustration and is pleased that BPD is looking.

“The backlash we received from both Boulder High School and the Boulder Police Department that she said, ‘Hey, it’s no big deal that she’s just a runaway was frustrating, but we never stopped, investigate,” said David.

Her mother, Jessica Knape, sent a message to Chloe.

“We just want you to get home safe and sound. If you can’t come home, we won’t stop looking for you. We will use every resource on this planet to find you and bring you home safely. We love you so much darling,” Knape said.
