14-year-old boy shot dead near Trumbull Park

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old boy is in serious condition after he was shot dead near Trumbull Park Monday night.
Police said the shooting happened around 8:25 p.m. at the 10500 block of South Yates Avenue, when an unidentified vehicle pulled up on the street next to the 14-year-old boy and someone shot him.
The boy sustained an abrasion to his head before being taken to Comer’s Children’s Hospital in serious condition.
It is not known whether the police have arrested the perpetrators. Identify two detectives in the area.
